Our daughter is the cook in our house, and I’m proud to say she does a much better job of it than her mother. She farewelled a long-time school friend who is returning to Japan this coming weekend, so she made lamingtons, because they’re Australian. She also made rocky road, because it’s December, and December must have rocky road!
Monique told herself she’d find something different to photograph this week. Take a break from flowers, she said. She’d been eyeing off a grand piano at her work for some macro shots, but kept forgetting her camera. However, some dried flowers in the garden caught her eye, and she chose this shot because the blue in the background made the flower ‘pop’.
Midweek Moment is a weekly photographic project in which Monique Mulligan and I team up to share our favourite photos on our websites. It’s a way of stretching ourselves creatively and a nice distraction from writing. Click here for more of our Moments.
